Homemade Gift Tags

If you are anything like me, I always forget to attach a gift card to my gifts and usually scramble to find something around the house. I decided last weekend to make a few out of left over scrapbook paper and card stock. I actually had a lot of fun making these and some of them actually turned out pretty cute! The pictures aren't great because I took them with my phone, but you get the idea. It was free and that is the best part!

Amazing Before and After Projects

I absolutely love looking at before and after projects. Their are some talented people that can look at an old item and immediately see how it can be transformed into something great. I don't know about you guys, but we are trying to live on a better budget these days, so what a great way to get furniture and not spend a fortune.

Ross- Dress For Less

I love going to discount stores and digging to find the best items for the lowest prices. It is sort of a game to me. I always head straight towards clearance racks of any store, but at Ross- the whole store is a clearance rack! It is a discount store for clothing, home items and much more. They get shipments of new items 3-6 times a week, so there is always something new to find. If you see something you like, go ahead and purchase it. It may be gone the next time you go. I have found countless great deals at Ross. From my maternity wardrobe to Carters baby clothes to great additions to my home. I highly recommend finding one in your area and stopping in as mush as possible!

I found this comforter at Ross for $15! It is a Cindy Crawford bedspread that is at JCPenny right now for much more!

Here it is in my house. I also got the small pillow for $8!
Total bed makeover $23!

Don't neglect the discount stores!

Spring Cleaning Tips

If you are anything like me, the last thing you have time to do is clean! Here are a couple of good tips that I have found to make this job a little easier.

  • When you get home from work, set the oven timer for 15 or 20 minutes and go around the house cleaning and picking up. You will be amazed what you can get accomplished!
  • Make a Schedule- I have divided up my rooms by the days in the week and try to tackle those rooms that day. If you stick to it (which is hard to do when you have a 4month old) it really helps keep the house cleaner!
  • Always start at the top of the room and work your way down.
  • A house that smells fresh will give the impression of cleanliness. Leave baking soda on the carpet over night to absorb odors and vacuum the next morning.
  • Run your sponges through the dishwasher every few days and dispose of them every few weeks. They breed bacteria because they do not get the opportunity to dry out between uses.
  • Steam helps loosen the build- up, so clean while your in the shower or right after.
  • Don't forget to clean door knobs and switch plates- we touch those everyday!
  • To help keep the toilet clean while you're away, pour 1/4 cup bleach and leave it until you return.
  • Keep the toilet ring free by pouring half- gallon of white vinegar in it once a month. Let it soak over night before flushing.
  • Rub shower doors with white a vinegar dampened sponge to remove soap scum.
  • To help the bathroom smell better, place a fabric softener sheet in the bottom of the trash can.
I hope these tips help you! They make me want to go home and clean right now!
